INTRODUCTION
Republic Day honors the date on which the constitution of Indian came into effect on 26 January 1950 replacing the Government of India Act[1935] as the governing document of India. The constitution was adopted by the Indian constituent Assembly on 26 November 1949, and came into effect government system, completing the country’s transition towards becoming an Independent Republic.
REPUBLIC DAY
India achieved Independent from British raj on 15 August 1947 following the Indian Independence Movement noted for largely peaceful non-violent resistance and civil disobedience led by Mahatma Gandhi. The Independence came through the Indian Independence Act 1947[10 4 11 Geo6 c 30], an Act of the parliament of the United Kingdom that partitioned British India into the two new Independent Dominions of the British common wealth. India obtained its Independence on 15th August 1947.

The 67th Republic Day was celebrated in all its solemnity and grandeur at G.H.S.S Poovar school on 26th January 2017. The students saluted the National Flag and pledged themselves to upholding the honor and integrity, diversity and uniqueness that is ‘’India’’, with particular reference to Dr.B.R.Ambedkar. We also attended that Republic Day celebrations. The choir group presented the patriotic song ‘’udhalit shatakirni udhalit tajanrudhaya’’.
